Cafes/Bars/Restaurants in Bath

The City of Bath offers a wide selection of Cafes, Bars and Restaurants, from family run traditional pubs to award winning restaurants. There is an abundance of choice to suit all budgets and moods and below are a few suggestions that we think are worth knowing about.

The Cavendish Restaurant at Dukes Hotel

The Cavendish Restaurant and Bar has been designed in a stylish, yet relaxed manner.. The restaurant overlooks a secluded walled patio garden perfect for summer alfresco dining. Menus reflect the seasons and using the best British organic and free range ingredients provide a tempting selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes. The dinner a la carte menu is an inventive repertoire for fine dining. A fixed price menu at lunchtime offers a choice of two or three courses and light meals are also served in the bar. The food is complemented by a comprehensive wine list. The restaurant has been awarded 2 AA Rosette, which in our opinion is well deserved.

Sally Lunns Refreshment House and Museum

Sally Lunn's is the oldest house in Bath (c.1482) and serves the most famous local delicacy; the Original Sally Lunn Bun. Sally Lunn, a French refugee, arrived in Bath in 1680 and established her bakery. Today Sally Lunn's serve a menu based on the world famous Sally Lunn Bun during the day and offers fine English food in the evening. The Museum is open daily, showing the original kitchen she used.
