For our homes we want, amongst other things, comfort, space, location and for it to be well designed. We rightly invest a great deal of time and money making sure that things are just so. The sense of well being that we experience when we shut the door and feel “at home” cannot be underestimated. Therefore, we should ensure that we take the care to make sure that any accommodation, travel or home, is completely functional for our needs.

Price, location, furnishings, catering and several other requirements need to be considered before we chance our luck on the home away from home. Although, it doesn’t all have to be down to a wild guess. The importance of researching your travel accommodation cannot be expressed strongly enough. The cheapest may not be in the right location causing more expense from your transport budget and become therefore a false economy. The most expensive may provide all the trappings that you’re not used to at home and give you a film star experience but will it leave you enough in your pocket to explore your surroundings? What about food and rations? Are they within reach of your travel accommodation?

The time spent on making a hotlist of your essentials will be well rewarded when you lay out your hard earned cash. The best approach is to seek the advice of experts and review a good source of material. Don’t rule out considering a number of options for your trip: hotels, bed and breakfasts, self-catering options. Be prepared to compromise as you may not find everything on your list is provided but don’t miss the essentials. The variety is endless and whether your trip is business or pleasure don’t overlook the importance of getting the right travel accommodation in the right location with the correct amenities. New York, London, Paris, Munich, Bath? You may lucky enough to live in one of these fantastic cities but, when you decide to travel, accommodation research should be right at the top of your checklist.
